Dietitian Sheela Seharawat explains that almost all foods sold in the supermarket come under the label of processed to some degree because food begins to get worse and lose nutrients as soon as it is harvested. Processed foods are a negative term as it has adverse effects on health, as to whether it’s freezing, milling, curing, or else pasteurization, nearly all foods go through some type of processing. People should understand that highly processed foods are consists of industrialized ingredients as well as additives, with little or no intact whole foods. Some examples of highly processed foods are packaged cookies, Sodas, instant noodles, chicken nuggets, chips, and frozen pizzas, etc. Foods that are chemically processed and are prepared only with refined ingredients in addition to artificial substances are known as processed food.
